Consul Otto Bernheimer's famous Italian Renaissance-style armchair, which is upholstered with parts of a 16th century small pattern Holbein carpet, sold on November 24th 2015 at Sotheby's London for £100,000. In 1986 the Victoria and Albert Museum London opened a gallery showing a internationally important collection of Japanese art and design. This led the way for museum collections to receive corporate sponsorship.
