The Austria Auction Company will be holding there next specialist oriental rug and carpet auction on Saturday 25th September 2021. the sale comprises of 215 lots of fine oriental rugs and carpets from all over the weaving world, including Persian, Caucasian, Turkmen, and many other rugs and carpets. Highlights include lot 197, a rare Anatolian Kurdish rug est €14-20,000.

Bruun Rasmussen Auctioneers are holding an auction on September 20th 2021. The sale includes a wide range of decorative oriental rugs and carpets. Highlights include an attractive Caucasian Borjalu rug, a historical pictorial Mohtasham rug, a highly decorative north west Persian Heriz Karadja carpet and a couple of fine Chinese carpets. The antique rug and carpet section of the sale also includes a number of high quality unique weavings from Persia, Caucasus, Turkey and China. Also in the sale are a number of Scandinavian modern rugs from important sought after designers.

The Austria Auction Company will be holding there no reserve Oriental rugs, carpets, textiles, and trapping sale on Saturday 14th August 2021. This auction has a large collection of Turkmen trappings, alongside bags and sumakh panels from North West Persian and the southern Caucasus. It's the southern Caucasus that provide the most interesting carpets in the sale. Three pile rugs and one flat weave cover, illustrate the different weaving traditions from the Kazak in the central west to the more southerly Karabagh region and along the Talish plain in the east. The three medallion Kazak rug (lot 94 estimated €3,000-€4,000) has the long glossy pile, borders and deep red, yellow and dark green associated with Kazak rugs of older vintage and high quality. The three medallion type is also associated with Lori Pambak rugs.

Material Culture are holding a sale from the Leigh Marsh Collection of Antique Turkmen and Oriental Rugs and Carpets. The auction includes 191 lots with most being fine antique Turkmen rugs and also Caucasian, Shahsevan, Anatolian and Persian rugs and carpets. The sale will be held on Sunday 27th June 2021.

The Austria Auction Company will be holding there fourth rug sale of the year on 12th June 2021. The Fine Antique Oriental Rugs XXV sale will include an Impressive selection of collectable oriental rugs and carpets form all over the weaving world. There are three main areas that deserve special attention, pile and flat weave bags, Chinese and Tibetan weavings, and finally, Turkmen rugs. The sale has a number of Chinese silk and metal thread embroideries, and large palace sized carpets, lot 65, a silk and gold thread dragon rug, unites these two categories as it bears an inscription that dedicates it for imperial use in the Jiguang Pavilion in the Forbidden City in Beijing, estimate €30,000-40,000. One of the most interesting lots of the auction is a fresh to the market small south Caucasian rug with a field totally filled with a hooked diamond medallion design that relates very closely to Azerbaijan silk embroideries, lot 91 estimate €40,000-60,000.

Bruun Rasmussen Auctioneers are holding their Antique Carpet & Rug Sale on the 2nd June 2021 at their Copenhagen sale room, They are offering a wide range of Swedish rugs from famous designers, as well as a number of Persian pieces including a few fine Seirafian Isfahan rugs. Bukowskis auction house is holding their spring sale of important Persian carpets, with a few from China, Turkmenistan, Morocco and Anatolia. The sale also includes seven tapestries from the Royale d Aubusson. The sale will take place at their Stockholm premises on the 2nd-4th June 2021.

Nazmiyal Auctions New York will be holding the second part of the sale of fine oriental rugs and carpets from a prominent New York dealer. The sale will take place on Sunday May 16th 2021, with over 160 antique and vintage rugs and carpets offered at enticingly low estimates. The sale offers a wide range of antique rugs and carpets in a variety of types and sizes from Persia, Turkey, China, Europe, India and the Caucasus. some of the highlights include a charming antique Persian Senneh rug (lot 1000 estimate $3,000-$5,000), and a room size Persian Tabriz carpet (lot 1173 estimate $40,000-$60,000) Other sale highlights include a Persian Afshar carpet (lot 1003 estimate $5,000-$8,000), a Persian Kerman carpet (lot1016) an oversized Persian Sultanabad carpet (lot 1062 estimate $30,000-$40,000), and a classic Persian Heriz carpet (lot1073 estimate $20,000-$30,000). Further highlights are a tribal Yomut main carpet (lot 1006 estimate $5,000-$10,000), a Persian Qashqai horse cover (lot 1118 estimate $4,000-$6,000), and an assortment of saddle bags.

Skinners auction house in Massachusetts are holding their Fine Oriental Rugs & Carpets sale on the 2nd May 2021. The sale includes a number of fine examples of rugs and decorative carpets and textiles. Most of the lots come from major rug collections throughout the US and Canada, and some of the highlights are early Turkmen trappings, and a main carpet, including a rare Salor chuval. Also a group of 17th-18th century Chinese rugs and textiles, and many early Anatolian, Caucasian and northwest Persian pieces most of which are in good condition.

Dorotheum auction house in Vienna will be holding their oriental rug and carpet sale on 26th April 2021, at their Palais Dorotheum sale rooms in Vienna. The sale includes some rare antique rugs and carpets of exceptional quality, including a group of fine silk Persian Heriz carpets (lots 53-56). The sale also offers a beautiful Persian Sarouk Feraghan with gold lions (lot 52 estimate €7,500), and a group of Persian Mohtasham Kashan rugs in various sizes (lot 19-21), and two fantastic Persian Serafina Isfahan carpets (lot 173-174), a couple of rare Ningxia rugs (lot 105-106), and several collectable Caucasian rugs, a fine Anatolian Ushak carpet (lot 47), and a superb antique Persian Serapi carpet (lot 93), along with a collection of old vintage Tibetan rugs.

Christie's auction house London is holding their Art of the Islamic World Including Oriental Rugs and Carpets sale on 1st April 2021. The sale includes over 60 lots of oriental rugs and carpets spanning nearly four centuries. The highlight of the sale is an important 17th century Polonaise carpet, formally part of the noble collection of the Pio Falco family, its identical pair remains in the Palazzo del Principe museum in Genoa. This carpet is in remarkable condition retaining a large amount of its silk pile and gold and silver thread, it really exemplifies the golden age of Persian Safavid weaving under Shah Abbas the Great. Also included in the sale is a rare Persian Safavid vase carpet fragment, once part of a impressively large Persian Kerman carpet woven during the 17th century. Other fragments of the same carpet are housed in more than 10 of the worlds top museums including the V & A. Other highlights include a rare 16th century Persian Tabriz border fragment, and a beautiful Qajar rug who's designs are closely related to early Persian Safavid Kerman vase carpets, a rare part silk Salor carpet from Turkmenistan, a Pinwheel Caucasian Kazak rug, and a Imperial silk and metal thread Palace rug from northern China.
