The Palais Dorotheum in Vienna will be holding their oriental rug and carpet auction on the 20th February 2019. One of the highlights is a Central Persian silk carpet from the first half of the 20th century. This large rug of unusual format boasts a vase and central gable motif on a light coloured ground, and is in excellent condition. Another lot is a Savonnerie from the second half of the 18th century, commissioned as a palace carpet. This museum quality carpet is in good condition, with a round filigree medallion enclosed in a lozenge on a rust ground. Another magnificent carpet is a mid 20th century Persian Meshed carpet of the finest quality from northeast Persia. Bruun Rasmussen Auctioneers is holding its antique sale from 27 February to 7th March 2019 in Copenhagen. The highlights among the oriental rugs and carpets include a beautiful antique Serapi carpet, a rare Caucasian Kazak rug, a fine Persian Seirafian Isfahan hinting scene rug, a Persian Benlian Tabriz room size hunting carpet, an Ivory ground Moghan runner and a Mohtasham Kashan figural rug.
