The Dardashti Collection Auction

Material Culture Auctions of Philadelphia will be holding a special sale of the Dardashti collection on the 24th October 2022. Yadid Dardashti was a highly regarded dealer who accumulated one of America's finest collections of decorative antique oriental rugs and carpet. The sale comprises of 241 lots of fine rugs and carpets right up to mansion sized pieces and all in remarkable condition. One of the many highlights of the sale is lot 84 a beautiful and very fine Persian Serapi carpet, and lot 83 a wonderful Persian Bakhtiari carpet circa 1913 with great provenance. Fans of Heriz, Serapi and Bakshaish carpets will be spoilt for choice with no less than 53 great examples to choose from. lot 50 is worth a look an animal skin Bakshaish with a camel ground and lot 74 a vibrant Serapi carpet. The auction also includes many decorative carpets from Agra, Oushak, Mohtashem Kashan, Bidjar, Kerman Lavar, Hadji Jalili Tabriz, Mahal and Ziegler among others.
