Christie’s Auction and other Autumn Sales.

Christie's Auction House will be holding their Exceptional Sale on 23rd November 2021 at their Paris sale rooms. The highlight of this sale is a magnificent Ming dynasty Palace carpet (lot 224) made for the halls of the Forbidden City. This carpet could be the oldest surviving complete Ming Palace carpet known, the production of these carpets is thought to have started in the 15th century and continued until the 17th century. The estimate for this rare carpet is €3,500,000-€4,500,000. On Monday 22nd November 2021 Wannenes Auction house will be holding their antique rug and carpet sale. Among the highlights is lot 93 a North-West Persian rug circa 1850, estimate € 15,000-€18,000, and lot 85 a Chinese Beijing rug circa 1900, estimate €20,000-€26,000. The sale also includes a fine selection of antique oriental rugs and carpets from Persia, Caucasia, Anatolia, Balouch, China and lots more. In New York Nazmiyal Auctions will be holding their antique oriental rug and carpet sale on 21st November 2021. Highlights of the sale are a Voysey Donegal carpet, lot 3047 estimate $8,000 or more, a exceptional Ushak carpet lot 3111 staring bid $10,000, a beautiful Persian Serapi carpet, lot 3163 staring bid $20,000, the sale includes many wonderful rugs and carpets from Afghanistan, Persia, Anatolia, Moroccan, and some fine Caucasian rugs, not mention European rugs and carpet.
