Christie’s Auction House London, Art of the Islamic and Indian World’s

Christie's auction house London, will be holding their Arts of the Islamic and Indian World's sale on Thursday 25th June 2020. The sale includes a fine selection of oriental rugs and carpets spanning 300 years of weaving. One of the standout pieces is a fine Indian Agra carpet woven in the first half of the 19th century, and is comparable to a similar example in the Tehran Carpet Museum, also a rare 18th century Caucasian carpet (lot 175) which has a very unusual golden yellow colouring, and a beautiful silk Yarkand carpet from East Turkestan with the iconic pomegranate design. From Persia a Qashqai saddle cover along with many other fine oriental rugs and carpets. Rippon Boswell & Co will be holding their Spring Auction in Wisesbaden on 27th June 2020. The sale includes 298 lots of fine oriental rugs and carpets, some from a prominent collection.
