Oriental Rugs, Carpets, Textiles and Tapestries at Dorotheum

The Dorotheum auction house in Vienna will be holding their sale of Oriental rugs, carpets, textiles and tapestries on Tuesday 19th October 2021. Some of the standout pieces of the sale include two rare silk Persian Heriz carpets (lot 69 estimate €38,000 and lot 182 estimate €19,000). The sale also has a collection of south Persian tribal rugs, a group of Turkmen pieces, and a 17th century Persian Kerman vase carpet (lot 137 estimate €60,000). Also in the sale are a group of classical Persian carpets including famous weavers like, Mohtasham Kashan, Seirafian Isfahan, Saber Meshed and Meshehir Kashan. Other notable pieces are lot 134 an early Tibetan Tiger rug €4,000 and lot 135 a large Chinese Peking carpet, their are also several examples of Caucasian rugs and carpets. Also a fine Turkish Ushak carpet with Ivory ground (lot 50) and a bold Persian Serapi carpet (lot 52) and some very beautiful Tapestries.
